Retirees in the state penultimate Friday called on Federal Government to find lasting solutions to bottlenecks in the payment of their entitlement, The Fact report.

Speaking on this backdrop, Olatunji Olarinkoye, a retiree from University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital lamented the hardship retirees are going through, calling on the federal government to rejig PENCON so as to meet up to it’s obligations.

According to him, ‘federal government should find lasting solutions retirees of Nigeria and for prompt response to our entitlements’.

“Up till now, some of our retirees are yet to receive their NHF refund from the Mortgage Bank. What they said was thqt IPPIS have not released the deducted money to the bank.

” The Banks claimed that they have not gotten January and February, 2022, affirming that of January to April 2023. They said the fault is from IPPIS, ” he said.

Olarinkoye added that what appears to be a salt upon injury for the retirees was the statement from FCMB asking us to forgo the unremitted months.

“The funny thing is that FCMB said except if we can forgo months not remitted. Does that speak well for the civil servants that have worked 35years meritoriously.

“It’s also high time for the federal government to do needful for the PENCOM. The organization is not of any helpful and doesn’t make sense at all, ” the retired Pharmacist stressed.
