Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, will on Monday, August 24, 2026, flag off the construction of a new flyover bridge along the Oyemekun–Oba Adesida Road in Akure, the state capital.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, saying the flag-off ceremony would take place at 11:00 a.m. at Cathedral Junction, Oba Adesida Road, Akure.
According to Adeniyan, the project is part of the Aiyedatiwa administration’s commitment to easing traffic congestion and modernising urban infrastructure across the state.
He said the flyover, which will run from Adegbola Junction to St. Mathias/NNPC Filling Station, was designed to address the perennial gridlock along the axis, improve vehicular movement and enhance the aesthetics of Akure.
The Chief Press Secretary explained that the project is a key component of the administration’s OUR EASE agenda, which he said focuses on delivering people-oriented infrastructure with direct impact on the lives of residents.
Adeniyan added that members of the State Executive Council, traditional rulers, community and religious leaders, as well as other stakeholders, are expected to attend the flag-off ceremony.
He said the administration remained committed to implementing infrastructure projects that would improve the quality of life of residents and contribute to the development of Akure as a modern state capital.
