His major projects include rehabilitation of roads, especially those leading to farmland. Agbelere regime had installed maximum security guarantee in the local government by putting all the security agencies, including the vigilantes on the alert as the Chairman and Chief Security Officer of the local government, so that the good people of Ilorin East would always sleep with their two eyes closed.
Security situation in Ilorin East Local Government has improved under the headship of Hon. Garba Olayinka Lukman Agbelere. There was a working relationship with all security formations within the council, a feat that has informed peace and stability in the area.

Some villages and communities who couldn’t have access to electricity for over a decade were filled with joy as he repaired their transformers. Few among these communities includes; Morafa-Oja, Olororo , Owode , Oyo-Idera, Ayetoro Ile, Kure,Jabi, Aloko and Afara community.
Other communities that benefitted from his rural electrification larges are, Irepo, Aigoro, Onikoko, Famola, Gaa Ipata, Iponrin, Ita Alade, Wotu-Tapa, Wotu – Youruba, Abudu, Fulani Olomoyo, Oloro, Budo Alfa, Apado and Isamu.
Agbelere has spent million of Naira on Engine and Tire for the local government’s abandoned grader which as of today has enables communities to have the share of motorable road.
At Agbeyangi/Gbadamu/Osin ward, the Chairman refurbished Primary Health Care Center, Agbeyangi and procured medical equipments, furniture for the center. Agbelere renovated a block of two classrooms at L.G.E.A Primary School, Panada. He procured and installed 200KVA transformer at Adelu community and also provided Tablets and Chairs to Panada LGEA Primary School.
At Apado ward, the Council boss constructed solar powered motorized boreholes and streetlight at Famole. At Gambari ward l, Agbelere renovated a block of two classrooms at Dr. Bukola Saraki Junior Secondary School, Iya – Balogun. Ditto at Awodi primary health care center, he built new block of labour room and renovated the old building. He put up a solar powered motorized borehole and procured hospital beds alongside equipments.
At Gambari ward ll. Agbelere procured medical equipments, drugs and furnitures to Bata Karuma primary health care center. At Ile-Onikoko/Obanga, he constructed solar powered motorized borehole. He constructed drainage and two culverts at Soro ll community. He built a four bedroom residential building in compensation to the relocated family to expand primary health care center at Isale Koko.
At Ibagun ward, Hon. Agbelere constructed drainages and laying of laterite in Jagun, Aduagba street. Construction of Upper Area Court , Akerebiata along Sobi road. He procured transformer , installation and energizing at Idigba-Were. At Ilorin ward, he also constructed solar powered motorized borehole at Iponrin laced with streetlight.
At Magagi Are ward l, he constructed solar powered motorized borehole in Oke-Ita, another solar powered motorized borehole at Ode-Onilu, Oke-Kura Area. He built four compartments of public toilets and conversion of hand pumped borehole to a solar powered motorized borehole.
At Magaji Aare ward ll, checks shows he procured medical equipments and furnitures at primary health care center, Alalubosa. Construction of another solar powered at A Division. He procured and installed a new 300KVA Transformer at Orisunmibare community at Mubo phase ll.
Agbelere’s stalling achievements within a year in office further cuts across Marafa/ Pepele ward, where he had a comprehensive renovation of Marafa/ Aiyetoro LGEA Primary School, renovate primary health care center, Marafa – Oja, construction of a solar powered motorized borehole, and rehabilitation of two overhead tanks and reticulation .
He also constructed a solar powered motorized borehole at Aiyetoro, refurbishment of solar powered motorized borehole and reticulation at Elesinmeta.
At Maya/Ile-Apa ward, the award winning Chairman completed primary health care center, Maya. He procured medical equipments, medicines and furniture at primary health care center, Maya and provision of streetlight.
At Oke-Oyi/Oke-Ode/Alalubosa ward, he constructed Area Commandant Office for the Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Oke-Oyi and he procured furnitures for the newly constructed NSCDC area office.
Hon. Agbelere’s leadership sagacity dated back his days as a student while he held many leadership positions like Secretary and Auditor General of the Muslim Students Society and later president of Youruba Students Union, Adamawa State University.
It is indeed the fact that Hon. Garba Olayinka Lukman Agbelere have had his name written in gold in the political annax of Kwara State, and posterity will continue to adjudge him right.
