Ambassador-designate to Germany, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to the recent derecognition of the National Working Committee led by David Mark within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The development followed a decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which cited a court directive ordering the commission to maintain the status quo pending the resolution of a legal challenge concerning the party’s leadership.

The situation has continued to draw attention within political circles as disputes over party leadership persist.

INEC’s decision was based on an existing court order that requires all parties involved in the dispute to maintain the current situation until the matter is fully determined.

The case revolves around the legality of the leadership structure associated with David Mark within the ADC.

By acting in line with its interpretation of the court directive, the commission effectively withdrew recognition of the leadership faction pending further legal clarification.

This action has contributed to ongoing uncertainty within the party regarding its official leadership.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Fani-Kayode commented on the development, describing it as an indication of deeper issues within the ADC.

He criticised the party’s leadership struggles and suggested that the situation reflects challenges in maintaining internal cohesion.

His remarks focused on the implications of the derecognition and the broader difficulties faced by the opposition party in managing its affairs.

Fani-Kayode also advised politicians associated with the ADC to redirect their efforts toward strengthening their political platform over time.

He suggested that building a stable and united party structure would be necessary before pursuing future electoral ambitions.

His comments included a recommendation that opposition figures consider focusing on long-term development with a view to participating more effectively in subsequent election cycles.

He said, “They can’t even form a party and hold it together yet they want to rule Nigeria? God forbid!.
